University of West Florida The Village Scholarship Student Study Abroad Scholarships Maximum Award: $3,000 Awards will range from $1500 - $3000 based on a student's financial need and academic merit. UWF offers study abroad scholarships for the The European Village Program based on financial need, statement of purpose and academic achievement. Students applying for the the The European Village Program Scholarship must have completed the application process for The European Village Program by the Scholarship Application Deadline of April 24, 2016. Scholarship applicants who have not completed a program application will not be considered. The European Village Program Scholarship is open to UWF students applying to The European Village Program Study Abroad Program for Fall 2016. The European Village Program Study Abroad Program Application is available by selecting the link at the bottom of this page. The European Village Program Study Abroad Program is made possible through the generous support of the University. Eligibility is restricted to current UWF students who have been accepted for participation in The European Village Program Study Abroad Program. Only one application entry accepted per student. Application Requirements Applicants must complete the online application forms and accompanying documents. In addition, applicants must upload a type-written statement of purpose describing the personal benefits the student expects to receive from the program of study and how it will help meet his/her personal and academic goals. Additional information about financial need, the amount requested, or other information useful in evaluating the application can also be included (500 words or less). Application forms must be completed no later than April 1, 2016. Amount Requested Students may request up to $3,000. Selection Process The Review Committee will evaluate applications based on essay, academic achievement and academic goals, financial need, and activities/work experience, and statement of purpose. Awards will be announced within one week of the application deadline and will be applied directly to the student’s account at the start of the program semester. Village Scholarship - Recipient Expectations UWF Village program scholarship recipients are required to sign a contract of obligation to submit a brief report of your study abroad experience within 30 days of program return. This report should be submitted to International Programs, Dr. Karen Smith, Building 71. After this period, a hold will be placed on your UWF student record until this obligation is satisfied.
