Eligibility is restricted to current UWF students who have been approved by Study Abroad Services for participation in an approved program abroad for academic credit. Only one application entry will be accepted per student.

Application Requirements
Applicants must complete the online application forms and accompanying documents. In addition, applicants must upload a type-written statement of purpose describing the personal benefits the student expects to receive from the program of study and how it will help meet his/her personal and academic goals. Additional information about financial need, the amount requested, or other information useful in evaluating the application can also be included (500 words or less). All application forms must be completed no later than October 15, 2016. Applications which are incomplete when the deadline has passed will not be considered.

Amount Requested
Students may request up to $2,500.

Selection Process
The Grant Committee will evaluate applications based on the study abroad program description, academic achievement and academic goals, financial need, and activities/work experience, and statement of purpose. Awards will be announced once a year according to a timeline established by the Study Abroad Scholarship Committee (Fall, Spring or Summer study abroad applications will be evaluated in the Spring of each academic year) and will be applied directly to the student’s Nautilus account at the start of the program semester.

Recipient Expectations
Recipients are required to sign a contract of obligation as a condition of receiving funds from the UWF Foundation. In addition, returning students who received scholarship awards may be asked to submit a brief report or participate in activities that describe the knowledge and insights gained during the study abroad experience. The report should be submitted to the Study Abroad Services, Building 71, no later than 30 days after returning from the study abroad experience.
