Program Overview
Departure date for the program is May 10, 2013.
The program begins in Spain on May 11, 2013. The program ends on May 24, 2013 and students return to the US on May 25, 2013.
The program is open to UWF students, and non-UWF applicants who apply for non-degree status. It will offer you multiple opportunities to use Spanish in your everyday life, and involve you in cultural activities. Limited spaces available.

Salamanca is a dynamic and intimate city that invites you to immerse yourself into one of the most beautiful places in the world to learn Spanish while living the Spanish way. Salamanca is the home of the oldest University in Spain, the prestigious University of Salamanca. The city is a must see for all of us, since it has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Housing
Students will stay with local families. The families will provide
three meals a day.

Program Considerations
You will receive a letter, via email, regarding the status of your academic application. Within 7 days of acceptance to the program, students will need to deposit $250.00 to the UWF in Spain account (Cashiers office), to reserve their place. Reservations are subject to availability. If students are admitted to the program, they will need to comply with all the study abroad requirements and deadlines set by the UWF Office of Diversity and International Education and Programs (ODIEP), as well as the requirements and forms set by the host institution. Do not book flights until you are officially accepted to the program, and complete the ODIEP paperwork. Also, transfers to and from Salamanca will require specific times for arrival and departure from Barajas.

Financial Matters

The Department of English and World Languages will collect the Program fee of $1500.00 for the "UWF in Spain" program:
Study Abroad insurance, Salamanca fees, UWF in Spain program deposit fee ($250 nonrefundable)The full program fee must be paid in full by March 1, 2013.

A group flight will be arranged for the students, but students will pay the flight cost directly to the travel agency. The flight will be part of a suggested itinerary which begins in Pensacola. Students departing from a different city have the option to join the group for the International flight to Madrid. Students not travelling on the group flight will be responsible for their own transportation to Salamanca to arrive by the designated arrival date and time.

In addition to the fees paid to the department for the program and the flight expense paid to the travel agency, students are registered for three credits of Spanish-language at UWF. The cost of the course credit will depend on student residency status.
Three credits at the in-state tuition rate is $623.85.
Cost of tuition for out-of-state residents or four credits is $1912.02.
Tuition is paid on the summer 2013 payment schedule for Term B courses.
