France is the third investor and its top corporations are active in Hungary. As early as 1989, ESSCA anticipated the changes in Eastern Europe by creating a unique graduate degree in France, the Specialized Master program in "East-West Exchange Management". This degree was designed to provide a multicultural public with a global vision of the transformations underway in Central and Eastern Europe. The first French Business "Grande Ecole" in Budapest since 1993, each year, ESSCA trains more than 150 students of over 20 nationalities in the marketing, finance and management professions. Through continued education, it assists Hungarian employees in meeting the challenges caused by Europe's expansion. It also meets the needs of French companies in Hungary and the aspirations of its students. It usually takes no more than a few days for a foreign student to find a place to stay, which is why we strongly recommend you to arrive one week before the semester starts in order to have sufficient time to find your accommodation and c omplete the administrative paperwork. Health Insurance Health Insurance is required and must meet the UWF Study Abroad insurance requirements which exceed most US insurance policy coverage. Please note that it is obligatory and should be confirmed to UWF and ESSCA Budapest no less than 2 weeks prior to departure. Hungary Residence Permit Information A student residence permit is required for students going to Hungary for semester or year. Most UWF students will apply at the Embassy of Hungary in Washington, DC. http://washington.kormany.hu/entry-for-long-stay If students are able to make their application during November, this will decrease the possibilities of delays with visa processing over the winter holidays. Students planning to study for the full academic year are required to submit additional documents for residence permit and visa application. Non-U.S. nationals may have additional or different requirements for visa application. These students should consult with the UWF International Student Office before visa application and departure.
