Program Description

UWF Partner institution INSA Lyon offers coursework in Engineering for UWF students in France.
France is famous for the quality of its engineering programs. France’s engineering programs combine rigorous training in science with practical training in engineering. The close relations between France's engineering schools and the business world enhance the quality and relevance of the instruction students receive. Ranked #4 by British QS World University ranking is the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Lyon or INSA Lyon in France.

Lyon, France: Lyon is a major industrial center in the southeast of France only two hours by train from Paris. The Saone and Rhone rivers both run through the city. Lyon emerged as a Renaissance silk-trading center; fine weaving is still maintained, and several museums are devoted to textile arts. The city's fine arts museum has collections of Spanish, Dutch, Impressionist and early twentieth-century paintings. Lyon has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998. Former capital of the Gauls, the city bears witness to 2000 years of continuous history. Its remarkable heritage is enriched with signature buildings by contemporary architects such as: Renzo Piano, Jean Nouvel, Santiago Calatrava.

On the edge of the Lyon-Villeurbanne conurbation, in an area that is rich in open spaces (Tête d'Or park, Feyssine pedestrian area), with an international outlook (International Residence, Interpol Head Quarters), the LyonTech campus (la Doua) benefits from a dense network of communication routes. Living on the LyonTech campus means:
• Enjoying a quality environment with many open spaces.
• Having the opportunity to eat on site thanks to INSA Lyon's 4 restaurants.
• Being able to use a whole range of sports and relaxation infrastructure (swimming pool, tennis courts, sports fields, fitness room).
• Being closer to the school's life (student associations, library, etc.).
• Being less than 15 minutes from the city center by public transport.
