Students are strongly encouraged to apply by the early deadline for their desired semester of exchange. Housing Information: Kansai Gaidai offers home stay, residence hall, and apartment style housing for exchange students. For residence hall and apartment-style, students share an eight-tatami mate room with another student. Residence halls have a shared bathroom on each floor of 20 to 30 students, while apartment style offers a bathroom, kitchen and living space shared by six to eight students. Home stay participants pay the food portion of fees in addition to rent. VISA Information: After admitted for exchange to Kansai Gaidai University, KGU will provide each student with a Certificate of Eligibility for their visa application. The COE is sent approximately one month before a student’s departure for Japan. The student must then send the COE and the required General Visa application documents by mail to the Consulate-General of Japan in Miami for visa application. Processing takes approximately one week. Visas for study in Japan are issued at no charge for processing.
