Experience modern living and traditional culture in Korea! Location Sejong is Korea’s multi-functional administrative city, 75 miles south of Seoul. Sejong was designated by the South Korean Government as the center for research, education, and high tech industry. KU Sejong is located at the heart of the city. At Korea University's Sejong campus, you can spend a semester studying in the modern metropolis of Sejong, Korea. Courses are taught in English and you will be required to take a course in Korean language and culture. All participating students must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Application for KU-Sejong Exchange Exchange at KU-Sejong is open to students who are interested in studying in Korea and learn about Korea through academic and cultural immersion. All applicants are required to secure the approval of UWF Study Abroad Services and then forward the completed exchange application to the Office of International Affairs at KU-Sejong. KU retains the right to review the students nominated for exchange by their home university and to make a final decision concerning admission. A minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale Must be of a currently enrolled student - Degree seeking at UWF Must have studied for a minimum of 2 full semesters at home institution by the time of submitting the application to KU-Sejong. Airport Pick Up available at no charge If students book to arrive on the designated arrival date, KU-Sejong will meet them at the airport in Seoul and transfer them by bus to the campus. If students arrive outside of the designated arrival period, train services is available for about $30 first class, $10 Standing with no seat. Tuition Fees All exchange students coming to KU-Sejong will pay tuition and other mandatory fees to their home institutions. However, exchange students are responsible for their own cost of living while in South Korea, such as accommodation, meals, purchasing textbooks and any other personal expenses. Academics KU Sejong offers a variety of courses taught in English. The course offering of the KU College of Humanities would allow UWF students opportunity to each 12-18 credits during semester study at KU Sejong. Visiting students take 2 courses from their academic area, one course in Korean Language and one course in Korean cultural experience. Colleges at KU-Sejong include: College of Humanities, College of Science and Technology, College of Business and Economics, School of Public Administration, School of Sports and Leisure Studies, School of Global Sport Studies. Click on the course number for detailed course information. Courses taught in English will indicate "(English)." Courses with a bullet marked under the "X" column are open to exchange students. Students sould pre-select courses before departure, BUT will reister during orientation at KU-Sejong. Accommodation During your stay, housing will live in the dormitories on the KU-Sejong campus. Students will be placed in single, double, or triple occupancy rooms. ITS participants will be placed in triple rooms. Students on exchange to KU-Sejong must live on campus. On-Campus Meal Service The cafeterias in the residence halls offer breakfast and dinner. For breakfast, students enjoy either Korean or Western meals. Korean meals only are offered for dinner. Near the residence hall are eateries in the students' hall (like the UWF Commons) and Crimson Plaza. The campus eateries offer diverse menus at reasonable prices. There are two English Cafes. Here students enjoy free coffee and snacks while reading English magazines and newspapers, or playing board games. Visa All students require a study visa for semester study at KU-Sejong. Students will apply by mail after receiving their acceptance letter from KU-Sejong. Additional information is also included in the Visa for Korea Document on this page. SPECIAL PROGRAM: International Town at Sejong Program (ITS) offers scholarships for UWF students. This program requires UWF students to have a 3.0 GPA and select the ITS option when applying for exchange to KU Sejong. ITS Participation Requirements: Assigned 2 Korean roommates in on-campus housing. Help Korean students to improve their English skills (assigned to 2 Korean students, commitment of 4 hours per week per language partner - total of 8 hours/week of one on one sessions). Participate in ITS events - International Universities Fair, Speech Contest, etc. ITS students take Korean language, a course in Korean Culture, and 2 additional courses taught in English. Benefits for ITS Participants: ITS students have their housing fee covered by the ITS program. ITS students also receive a 2-meals-per-day (breakfast/dinner) meal plan. ITS KU-Sejong Flight Reimbursement A flight reimbursement of 1,400,000 Korean Won (approximately $1,000 USD) is given to ITS participants after arrival. Additional scholarships are available to help cover monthly expenses and personal travel. Field trips and other cultural experiences. Participation in clubs of student's choice (i.e. cooking club, travel club, movie club, etc.) with financial support of KU. Network of students in the ITS program, both from Korea and around the world.
