National Quemoy University is located on the island of Kinmen, Taiwan, off the coast of China. Course Descriptions: NQU offers an English lectured program that covers language and literature, culture and art, political and economic studies fields to international exchange students. In addition to exchange application documents, students must complete a physical exam using the Foreign Student Health Check List. Costs/Expenses: UWF provides a list of Quick Cost Facts for each location. *Tuition is paid to UWF and UWF Credit is received for exchanges. Housing / Accommodations: Kinmen offers residence hall facilities on-campus. Students share rooms with one or three NQU students. The residence hall has a cafeteria on the first floor. Students student submit the Dorm Application Form as soon as they receive notice of acceptance for exchange to NQU. VISA Information: A visa is required to study in Taiwan. Students who intend to study for no more than six months should apply for a visitor visa; to study for more than six months, a resident's visa is required. The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Miami is the location for visa application. Students submit the required documents by mail one month before their scheduled departure. During the semester, students must submit additional paperwork to update their visa status with the Taiwan. Students are provided the necessary information after arrival. Mandatory Health Insurance: In addition to the travel insurance required for all study abroad students, foreign students in taiwan must enroll in National Health Insurance. Average fee is NT$749 per month ($25.00 USD).
