University of West Florida The Catalyst Scholarship Student Study Abroad Scholarships Maximum Award: $2,000 UWF offers study abroad scholarships for the The Catalyst Program based on financial need, statement of purpose and academic achievement. Students applying for the the The Catalyst Program Scholarship must have completed the application process for The Catalyst Program by the Scholarship Application Deadline of Mach 6, 2015. Scholarship applicants who have not completed a program application will not be considered. The Catalyst Program Scholarship is open to UWF students applying to The Catalyst Program Study Abroad Program for Summer 2015. The Catalyst Program Scholarship is made possible through the generous support of the University. Eligibility is restricted to current UWF students who have been accepted for participation in The Catalyst Program Study Abroad Program. Only one application entry accepted per student. Application Requirements Applicants must complete the online application forms and accompanying documents. In addition, applicants must upload a type-written statement of purpose describing the personal benefits the student expects to receive from the program of study and how it will help meet his/her personal and academic goals. Additional information about financial need, the amount requested, or other information useful in evaluating the application can also be included (500 words or less). Application forms must be completed no later than March 6, 2015. Amount Requested Students may request up to $2,000. Selection Process The Review Committee will evaluate applications based on essay, academic achievement and academic goals, financial need, and activities/work experience, and statement of purpose. Awards will be announced within one week of the application deadline and will be applied directly to the student’s account at the start of the program semester. Recipient Expectations In addition, returning students who received scholarship awards may be asked to submit a brief report or participate in Study Abroad recruiting events to describe the knowledge and insights gained during the study abroad experience. The report should be submitted to the OIEP, c/o Dr. Kim Leduff, Building 71, no later than 30 days after returning from the study abroad experience. Participation in study abroad activities may be scheduled in the semester following the study abroad experience. Questions?
